Araga Danrani, 75, received improved millet seeds through LWR's Resilience Plus project. He is now farming fields that for many years were left vacant because he could not afford enough seeds to plant them. From an original distribution of 8 kilos of seeds, he harvested 562 kilos of millet last year. He saved seeds from his harvest for replanting, and expects to harvest even more this year. "If not for this project," he said, "I would have had to leave because of hunger." Without the ability to feed his family through farming, he would have to look for work as a labourer.
