The Global Climate Justice Project harnesses a culture of learning and sharing from ACT’s faith-inspired members and forums around the world. The project aims to galvanise faith voices and leaders to bring to life our shared vision for a more resilient and sustainable future, one which complements the efforts of ACT’s frontline and most climate vulnerable communities.

During its annual meeting in Milwaukee the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), a member of ACT Alliance, voted to become the first sanctuary church in North America.
With this ground-breaking decision, ELCA pledged to provide shelter to undocumented immigrants and protect them from unnecessary jailing and deportation.

As states gather at the United Nations for the Climate Action Summit, taking place on 23 September, the ACT Alliance, Lutheran World Federation and World Council of Churches are strengthening their collective call for climate justice and immediate action.
