In response to repeated displacement in Colombia’s Catatumbo region, ACT Alliance has approved USD 150,135 from its Rapid Response Fund for a six-month response led by the Iglesia Evangélica Luterana de Colombia (IELCO).
The 6-months project will support people displaced to Cúcuta and Ocaña, where many families face food insecurity, psychological distress, protection risks and difficulties securing stable accommodation and income. The response is expected to reach 1,100 people, prioritising those with the greatest vulnerabilities through individual profiling and protection-risk assessments.
Activities will include food assistance, multipurpose cash transfers, individual and group psychosocial support, emergency livelihood support and referrals to specialised services. The project builds on IELCO’s previous work and established relationships with displaced communities, local organisations and public institutions in both cities.
