Boys discuss conflict resolution as part of a psycho-social program run by the Lutheran World Federation in the Zaatari refugee camp near Mafraq, Jordan. Established in 2012 as Syrian refugees poured across the border, the camp held more than 80,000 refugees by early 2015, and was rapidly evolving into a permanent settlement. Maha Haidar, a health and nutrition specialist with International Orthodox Christian Charities, a member of the ACT Alliance, feeds Plumpy'Nut to 11-month old Abdul as his mother, Rokaya Al Ali, holds him in the community health center in Kab Elias, a town in Lebanon's Bekaa Valley which has filled with Syrian refugees. Lebanon hosts some 1.5 million refugees from Syria, yet allows no large camps to be established. So refugees have moved into poor neighborhoods or established small informal settlements in border areas. International Orthodox Christian Charities provides support for the community clinic in Kab Elias, which serves many of the refugees. Plumpy'Nut is a specially formulated peanut-based food for treating severe acute malnutrition.

ACT member IOCC's Syria response efforts in Syria, Jordan and Lebanon.
Thousands of Syrian refugee families now living in Jordan escaped the violence of civil war to save their lives â and left with nothing. Working with community based partners, IOCC, an ACT Alliance member, is distributing warm clothing, winter blankets, food, hygiene kits, mattresses, insulating rugs, and school kits to Syrian refugee families living in the capital city of Amman and the Jordanian governorates of Irbid, Mafraq, Ajloun, Jerash, and Madaba. ACT member IOCC is also providing winter relief items as well as household items such as cookware and food parcels to vulnerable Jordanian families to help ease the burden of those hosting Syrian refugees or indirectly affected by this humanitarian crisis.
