ACT Alliance and partners will stage an action demonstrating the urgent need for scaled-up public climate finance and meaningful debt justice for vulnerable countries. Through a symbolic “Baku to Belém Roadmap Race,” participants illustrate how outdated and undersized finance pledges cannot reach the finish line, while only the runner representing $ 1.3 trillion in public climate finance crosses it. The action underscores the reality many countries face: without substantial grant-based finance, debt relief, and an end to loan-driven climate support, developing nations cannot invest in adaptation, resilience, or recovery. The message is clear – COP30 must deliver finance that matches the scale of the crisis and supports a just, debt-free pathway for communities on the front lines.
